The Covetous

Image

Suffer the children

As they know no wrong

Suffer the animals

As they know no other

Suffer the poor

As they have no money

Celebrate the Rich

As they hold the power

Celebrate the Greed

As it turns the world

Celebrate the ignorance

As it knows no truth

Worship the idols

As they have no meaning

Worship the shallow

As they have no depth

Turn your backs

So you cannot see

Close your minds

So you cannot understand

Close your hearts

So you cannot feel

No one needs compassion

As it doesn’t pay

No one needs kindness

It won’t benefit you

Don’t take responsibility

There’s someone else you can blame

Please just turn on your TV

Tune out the pleas of the helpless

Eat until you cannot eat anymore

We have a new mission

We are self seekers,

Self centered and egotistical

Blaming the righteous

Persecuting the indigent

Begrudging the depleted

The meek shall not inherit the earth

It is made for us,

The covetous…

Live Humbly, be Charitable, Live Graciously,

Sparky
